The 2009 Dodge Journey is perhaps the most versatile vehicle that Dodge has made yet. The Journey provides the capability of an SUV, the
practicality of a minivan, and the driving experience of a passenger car. With seating for up to seven and a storage
compartment at every turn the Journey can handle most tasks. It was designed to meet the needs of just about anyone from a
married couple with children to a single person just wanting to go to the beach on the weekends.

The exterior exudes power, capability, and refinement. The traditional Dodge crosshair grill up front is sandwiched in between headlamps with
sharp lines and halogen lamps to provide great road lighting at night. 19 inch wheels are available, a first in the cross over market. The angle
of the roof near the back makes it easier to see out the windows in the back.
The interior is comfortable, spacious, and practical at the same time. Seating for five passengers is standard while the SXT and RT models have
seating for seven available. The third row gives passengers two inches more head room than leading competitors. The front passenger seat can
flip open, called Flip N Stow, to reveal a storage bin perfect for storing a purse, umbrella, etc. Behind the second and third rows are storage
compartments in the floor that flip open to provide a place to store things like groceries or luggage.

The second and third row of seats feature a sort of stadium seating. The second row of seats sit 1.6 inches higher than the first row and the
third row of seats sits 0.6 inches higher than the second row. This makes it easier for children to see out the windows as well as see the
video screen in the roof of the vehicle. Also offered are child booster seats, they raise the child up four inches putting him/her more in line
with the seat belt.
The second row can move forward/backward 4.7 inches. This lets adult passengers move the seat back to have more leg room, or the driver can move it
forward to bring children closer. With the front passenger seat folded down the child in the seat behind it becomes more accessible to the driver.
Getting to the third row of seats is easy with Tilt N Slide second row seats. With the turn of a lever the second row of seats slides forward and up
to give a clear path to the back row of seats.
The Dodge Journey comes standard with front wheel drive with all wheel drive as an option. The different engine choices include: 2.4L 4 cylinder wold
engine, a 2.7L V6 that can run on straight gasoline or E85, and a 3.5L V6. Either a 4 speed or 6 speed transmission are paired with each engine. The
2.4L engine privides an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway while the V6 delivers 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
