This one sounds very minor. Not something a lot of auto makers would issue a recall over. Have you ever been in an accident because of being locked out or in your car. The formula usually goes like this: multiply the number of expected issues by the amount of the average lawsuit settlement the customer could get out of it, if that number is less than the cost of issuing a recall then don't do the recall. Many times this can lead to cars on the road being a danger to their driver and others. In this case I think the New Chrysler looked at this and decided they want to keep their customers happy, a move I think every automaker should be doing IMO.
If yer locked in I could see heat exhaustion being an issue, though I'd imagine that you could just roll down the windows and climb out that way. Either way I agree with your sentiment.
