My wife really wants to get a pacifica but I'm reluctant to pull the trigger.  I've heard that chrysler products have high transmission failure rates.  Can anyone chime in on this?

I think that there was a problem with the transmissions in 90s (my concord has already gone through one and this one is going to be bad soon) but that was fixed in the late 90s early 2000s.  My next vehicle will have the cvt  Cool

Concord is right.  The auto trannies in the chrysler line up had a lot of maintenance that had to be done.  Missing that maintenance was like missing an oil change, itll keep running be eventually break.  The new trannies dont need as much done so they're a lot more reliable.  Of course you wouldnt need to worry about it if you had a manual  Cool

The new transmissions that Mopar makes are reliable and sturdy.  They'll work fine for many many miles.  I wouldn't give it a second thought.  Good luck on your purchase.

Good to know, thanks for the replies.  I guess we'll be checking it out this weekend.  What do you guys think is a good price on a pacifica?

Find a dealer that'll give you invoice plus incentives.  There are a few in my area so one shouldn't be that hard to find.

Thanks for the advice.  I've been calling around and I've found one that seems willing to deal.  I read squat advice on buying new vehicle, it seems to all make sense to me anyways.
