Apparently Leno didn't want to wait until the new vette came out in 09.  His is powered by E85 too, kinda neat.

Nice, I read an article a few years back about how Leno had no hod rod until some guys showed up at his house with an old chrysler tank engine.  He had it fitted and modified to run and now he gets to cruise around in it faster than any other hot rod out there.

Chrysler made tank engines?  Wow how do you get your hands on one of those?

Chrysler's tank engines were turbine engines that had mega torque and hp.  Those are basically what saved Chrysler back in then, the government bought up all those engines.  Then they found out that having a gas powered tank was a bad idea because gasoline exploded easily so now all tank engines are diesel powered.  Getting your hands on one of those would be next to impossible.

Heh, you'd think that before someone went to the trouble of buying millions of dollars worth of a property that they'd test it in the field before hand.  Sad to say some troops probably lost their lives driving around in gas powered tank engines.

I guess that's why they say hind sight is 20/20.  It's sad that all those engines basically went to waste, but the purchase of those engines is basically what saved chryslers butt back then.  Without that waste we wouldn't have our cars today.
