How the hemi are you?

« on: November 13, 2007 »

I don't have the article here since I'm not a subscriber to CR.  They gave the Charger V6/V8 models a recommended rating as well as the V8 300.  The V6 300 did a bit worse, don't know why though.  I'm a bit surprised at this news, CR usually takes a crap on all the big 3 products but this is actually positive.  Maybe they aren't bought off like we all thought they were.

It's good to see that some of the Chrysler vehicles get good ratings finally.  We need more people like Gilles designing our vehicles, the interior is the new battleground and we're playing catch up.

I wonder why the 300 V6 didn't get as good a rating.  Is it a lot heavier than the charger making it slower?

I bet the new 09 ram will get a great review as well.  It'll blow the tundra up (well more than the turd has already blown itself up).

The 09 will definately have a more car feeling to it, so CR will likely love it.

What CR likes and doesn't like is a total crapshoot.  Yeah so they don't take any $$ in ads from the products they review, they still have weird ideas on whats good and what isn't.  You can tell how they feel just by the way they describe vehicles, and american autos still get the negative adjectives.

That's true, but I'm going to chose to believe that this is a turning point for chrysler reviews in CR and other magazines.  I'm trying to stay positive with the challenger coming out Cool

Anyone know what dismal rating they gave the avenger?  Mine is great so far, I just want to know what CR thinks of it.

I don't think they're able to rate the avenger yet, it's still too new of a vehicle.  But I'd expect a crappola rating early next year.

CR used to give all new toyotas coming out an approved rating regardless of testing.  Seems like they're saying that the company that has a good track record always will, it's lazy testing.  They should just give every dodge product out there a crappola rating right when it comes out and then reevaluate after testing, they would rarely change their mind.

I always suspected CR of giving halo effect ratings (giving every vehicle made by the same company similar ratings) but that basically proves it.  Every company can turn out a good vehicle and a craptastic one.  They need to be rated individually but that costs more.

I haven't put any stock in what CR says since they started rating vehicles.  Their methods of rating are too general, they treat a broken radio knob the same as a cracked engine  block.

No kidding.  I'm tired of seeing american trucks not recommended while the tundra/ridgeline that couldn't tow/haul like a real truck could get recommended over and over.
