I figured Bonds would be on there, but I didn't think about Clemens.  Man a lot of these guys are tainted now.  Some of them are hilarious though, Knoblauch took some but I guess they didn't help him field.

I wonder if this is a sort of witch hunt be Selig.  We all know that Selig hates bonds, but he can't take action against bonds alone without the players union bitching.  So if he has this report drafted he can not only take action against bonds but many other players that have tainted the game.  All those records that bonds has need to get wiped off the books imo, so this is a good thing.

How the hemi are you?

Selig seems to care for the game.  Everyone one of those guys should get a big * instead of any records.  They all made a lot of $$ playing baseball, that should be good enough.

I hope they all get banned.  There's not excuse for cheating like that.  I don't care if they're at a disadvantage because other guys are doing it, they make their own decision.

Drugs don't make you more accurate on the mound or in the batters box.  These guys cheated, but they did it in a sport where it makes the least impact.  An * next to their records would be fine by me.

You don't think having more of your fly balls go into the stands than the warning track and being able to add a few mph to your pitches is a big deal???

x2, when you're using something that makes more of your pop ups go into the stands either fair or foul you're cheating and putting the other players at a disadvantage.

So they hit an extra 4-5 HRs a year because the ball would otherwise have been hit to the warning track, it's not that big a difference.

It's more than 4-5 HRs a year.  Look at BB in 99 and then in 2001, he looks like he ate himself.  His HRs also went way up because of the extra muscle mass.  If you don't think steroids helped him a lot then yer nuts.

I'd actually give a lot more credit to his elbow guard thingy than roids.  I've seen a history of that thing, it became what it is in 01.  He doesn't have to worry about getting hit so he can crowd the plate, it locks his arm when fully extended, and it's weight keeps his elbow down for a more correct stance.  I agree that the guy should have a giant * next to his name, but none of this actually helped him hit the ball.  He still did that on his own, it just helped the ball go a bit further.

So do you think that the white sox that threw the series back in the 30s should be allowed to have their stats in the record books with an * on them?

I think they're stats are still recorded, they're just banned from the hall of fame.  But it's a moot point since none of them are all time leaders in anything.

You're right, but BB, mcguire, sosa, clemens, etc. all those guys bump someone down the listin the records - that's not right.  BB shouldn't (and wouldn't) be the HR leader for mlb.

Didn't a lot of these guys go infront of congress and say they didn't use steroids?  They could be seeing some jail time.
