From allpar:

Automotive News reports Chrysler has begun a crash overhaul of the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger. The program, called “Project D,” is designed to correct problems with the new mid-size cars.

To help staff the Project D team Chrysler is bringing back some senior managers and other personnel who recently took early retirement packages. They will work on contract until Project D is complete sometime in 2008.

The Sebring and Avenger have achieved only limited success in one of the most hotly-contested segments of the passenger car market. Both have come under fire for inferior interiors that detract from the quality of the customer experience.

Project D will focus on interiors but insiders say that is not the end of changes planned for the Sebring and Avenger. Each of the cars will receive an early total makeover, including refreshed exterior styling.

Good, it was overpriced with the current interior.  But if they throw a new interior in that same car it should sell well.

I hope so.  My charger has a decent interior, but for the price of a mercedes it should've had more.  I know I'm screwed but I hope that all future chrysler vehicles have a better interior than the current ones do.

I personally like my trucks interior.  I'm going to get some leather seats and a back up camera installed, but that's about it.

Same here.  Every time I sit in a vehicle that has tons of doodads and whatits going on inside I wonder how long before each one of them break.  I like the simplistic nature of the the interior of my truck, there's very little that can go wrong with it, and thats the way I like it.

Not me, I opted for the leather option on my truck but I am sorely dissappointed in the quality of the leather that they used.  I got new leather put in and am going to do the stereo next, the infinity sounds pretty darn bad.

I'm in the same boat.  I have the slt version.  I decided on this trim after sitting in both and not being very impressed with the laramie.  I figure if I'm going to spend more $$ on an interior I'll do it myself and get it done right.  For now though the slt is fine, it was up to par a few years ago and for a mid level trim it's still pretty nice.
