DIESEL, you guys want to know how to give us a lot of relief from high gas prices.  BUY DIESEL, better mpgs and cheaper to refine.  No need for expensive batteries, no need for tons of new technology.  Just good old diesel.  That's something that we could realistically do in the future in a small amount of time.

x2, diesel biofuels can be made easily and lots of it goes a long way.  Plus I don't think biodiesel nets you worse mpg like ethanol does.  Although I bet the new emissions regulations make diesel mpgs a lot worse than they had been in the past.

I'd buy a diesel with my wrangler if only they would offer one Grin  A diesel wrangler would be a good crawler.

People have been saying that for years.  I agree with them, to be good in the mud you need lots of low end torque.  But, you can get that through gearing too.  It's all a trade off, diesel engines will be more expensive with emissions.

Holy crap that's the truth.  I just went and did a build on an 08 2500 with ctd, it's got a premium of 7-8k more than the hemi.  I remember the old 5.9L only had about a 5k premium.  It must be all those emissions systems that were added to the truck to make it compliant.
