WHY A DIESEL POWER WAGON NOW?
Officially, this 6.7L Power Wagon is proof of a concept that the Mopar Performance group built in conjunction with the Mopar Underground design team to show what could be done with existing OEM parts. If you ask us though, we'd say that Chrysler engineers and designers have been itching to build this diesel-powered package for decades, and they finally got the green light.

So it's a proof of concept but it looks like it can be done.

If I had the cash that would be the truck I bought.  Holy crap that's sweet.  I doubt that would make it to production though, it would cost way too damn much money for anyone to afford.

Hmm, they had to modify the front bumper quite a bit to fit the winch infront of the intercooler for the ctd.  I wonder how effective the intercooler is now with that big winch in front of it.  And I thought that the reason the powerwagon didn't have a ctd was because the hemi weighs like 700 lbs less, that truck would sink in the mud...

Forget a ctd powerwagon I wanna see a megacab powerwagon.  I think it should be like an accesory pack that adds the 4.56 gears and lockers and new tires and stuff like other accesory packs so that anyone could have that capability.  Would probably be cheaper to make too.

The powerwagon is already too big for offroading.  No way it would be applied to the megacab, it would be too long and too heavy.  If anything the powerwagon should be available only on rc/sb Rams.

x2, the 4.56 gears in the powerwagon provide all the low end torque it needs.  There's no need to put the big 6.7 cummins in it, the thing weighs too much, the front end will just sink in the mud.

I just think it'll cost too much money to put the cummins in there.  The weight wouldn't be much of an issue with twice as much torque to the wheels.

The difference in weight would be easily offset by the extra power going to the tires, plus they're able to put much larger tires on the truck because it's the CTD, no way the hemi would turn those 37s well even with 4.56 gears - the powerband for the hemi is just too high.
