Apparently it's an accident, I figured it was because it was a chevy  Tongue

I had to go to the page to view the pic, that's brutal but it looks like they didn't hit the front of the suv so that's good.  I guess it's not bullet proof  Grin

I'm surprised with all that heat going through the suv that it didn't catch fire, those guys are lucky they got out without injury.

That's awesome, I be tthey put all kinds of old rusted out vehicles on the field for pilots to blow up.  They made a mistake this time but it's good that no one got hurt.  I'd like to see something like this live.

If that's what they do instead of recycling the old cars that's ridiculous.  Our pilots wouldn't be shooting at cars anyways (I hope) why not just put up cardboard cutouts of tanks or something similar and make the $$ on recycling the old car?  There's already too much waste in our gov. we don't need more.

You'd think that the pilots could tell the difference between a rusted out vehicle and a suburban with lights all on and running.

That's the first thing I though, but maybe they have all the targets lit up or something, wasn't this at night too?

If it was at night and the chevy wasn't moving all that much I could understand this, wtf were those guys doing out on a live range anyways.

I agree with 95 here.  Why not just make cutouts of something that looks like an enemy instead of shooting up civilian cars - that's good practice for if they ever need to shoot up a civilian car, I hope no pilot would ever obey those orders.

They're probably old military vehicles that have been totalled out in accidents.  The military uses a lot of civilian vehicles to get people around.  A good number of those are totalled out every year in accidents and the military finds another use for them rather than the junk yard.
