According to autoblog: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/07/10/get-you-2009-dodge-rams-with-0-percent-financing/#comments

The 2009 dodge ram will hit the show room and get the same 0% financing for 72 months that the current Rams do.  That's an average savings of 7-8k over the loan of the truck vs a loan at 7%.  The truck is top notch and it has a good chance of being the best light duty truck available but gas prices have hit truck sales hard.  That's pretty sweet for those of us looking at the new truck, but probably sucks for people looking to unload their current trucks, resale values of 3rd gen trucks probably go down with this news.

wow, that's a great deal on a brand new truck.  Too bad they'll need these incentives to move the new truck.  YOu'd think that since it's so new it would sell on its own

Oh noes, I might have to trade for one of the new ones.  I do have a rule of not buying the first model year of anything but this might change my mind.

Wow, that's a good deal, I wouldn't expect a brand new vehicle to come with incentives.  Usually they sell well enough on their own.

0% on a brand new truck still isn't enough to entice me into becoming a beta tester for the vehicle.  I'll wait until a few model years after it's been out and they work out all the bugs in it.  I made that mistake with an old nissan, won't do it ever again.

I just went to the site, they updated to say that the 0% is only on the 08 Ram for 72 months.  They don't know what kind of incentives will be available for the 09 Ram.

Dang, guess the new Ram might not have any incentives to start.  Not that it should need them.  The new Ram looks awesome on paper, and it probably will do great in the field too, people will always pay a premium to be the first guy on the block with the new toy - look at the mark up on the challengers.

It'll need incentives.  Maybe not huge ones like we currently have, but it'll need some.  Trucks and SUVs aren't being bought these days.

You sure, I see lots of people driving around in them.  Makes me think I should've gone after a bigger vehicle.  I don't like being the small kid at the playground...

Those people are driving their SUVs because they can't trade them in.  A lot of people owe 20k or more on a vehicle that they could only get 5-8k back in a trade.  There's no way for them to afford that kind of loss, better to just keep driving the big thing and pay the high gas prices.  I can empathise with you on feeling like the small guy.  I had to get my trucks turbo serviced a few months back and had a little dingy of a car for 3 days while the truck was in.  I felt like I was playing bumper cars with cars that were 3x my size driving down the freeway.
