Allpar has gathered a lot of information on the redesign for the 2009 dodge ram.  The claim is that the 09 look will have as much presence on the road as the 94 did.  That's some big talk considering the 94 design is basically responsible for the way all trucks look today.  Here are some pics:

I've become accustmed to the big rig looks.  But I also had to get used to them.  Now I feel like we have the best looking truck on the road.  The guy behind the 300c is on this redesign.  While that makes me a bit nervous (can he design a masculine truck, or will it look metro?) it also has me excited.  The 300c one badass looking car.  I can't wait to see what the new badass looking ram will be.  It'll also be nice to be on top of the power game again as well as looks

After looking at the '08 dakota I'd say that the ram is gonna look like a bigger version of that.  The headlights and the fogs match up.

While i like the new dakota better than the current dakota.  I hope that the ram isnt a bigger version of it.  It wouldnt have the same presence as the 94 redesign did, thats for sure.

I dont mind that design at all.  Other than the headlights, but it took a while to get used to the 06 headlights too.  Dodge could do worse thats for sure.

Updated Screen shots on allpar here

With all the emphasis on mileage the new Ram is almost certain to get the hybrid drivetrain developed by DC/BMW/GM.  It will also get the two new Cummins engines, a V6 and a V8.  If Ford/GM/Toyota don't do anything in the mean time Dodge will be the only brand out there with a truck that can pull 10k lbs and get mid 20s for MPG.

After seeing these shots I am cautiously optimistic about the new trucks.

I hope the new looks are as bold as the look of the 94.  That truck really set the Ram apart from the pack.  Dodge needs an aggressive redesign right now to gain market share.  Good looks and good mileage = more customers.
