Good, I finally might get to see one of these things up close.  I've only seen one but it was going down the road the other way at 70 mph, a black one and it looked pretty good.  I wonder what the dealers with the 08s marked up to 55k are gonna do with them?

I've seen a couple on dealer lots, but they wanted 65 for em not 55.  I asked what they'll do if they don't get that price and they said they'd just put it up on ebay with the reserve close to 65, someone will buy it at that price.

65k for a car stickered at 40k?  That's a lot for a collectors car that'll probably only be worth 60k in 20 years.  It'll take 25 years to break even and that's if the car is around that long.  Maybe a few years ago when everyone and their brother and their brothers dog was getting cheap credit from their house, but not today.

All they have to do is put it up on ebay and they'll make a mint.  The 08s will be worth a lot of cash in a few years.

Yeah but I think gman is right.  The 08s will be collectors but they'll have to wait like 40 years for them to be worth the extra cash.  I think in a couple years you'd be able to get an 08 for well under sticker price.

Collectors or not I don't think I'd ever pay over sticker price for a vehicle.  I paid sticker once and it just felt icky.  I don't like giving that much money to people that lie for a living.

Same here, that's why I buy my vehicles used.  At least that way if I do get screwed on the deal it's for less money.

Buying used vehicles is more stressful than new.  You can find out exactly what the dealer invoice for a vehicle is and you should have little problem finding a dealer in your area that will sell the vehicle to you for invoice.  I usually try the fleet manager, they're happy to sell it for invoice.

Man that's a good looking car.  Every time I see it I think to myself I might just have to get one in a year or two.

Aren't there still some dealers trying to get way over sticker price on these.  With the 09s out I doubt they'll sell them for sticker even.

Yes, I've seen stickers for the V6 on other forums that show a 10k markup so the car now costs 36k instead of the 26k sticker.  I hope no one is desperate enough to buy a V6 challenger that they'll pay 10k over sticker price.

10k markup on a v6 is nuts.  If it were an inline 6 that would be another story Tongue  Seriously though, why can't the dealer just sell them for sticker, we all know that their invoice is a lot lower than sticker price.

10k markup on anything is an insult to most peoples intelligence.  But dealers are hurting right now and they need to do everything they can to stay afloat.  If the dealer network goes under so does chrysler.  I don't think they should be doing things like this, but they gotta do something.

I've talked to a lot of dealers and they don't seem to want to make any deals.  I'm not asking for a ton of money off msrp but they won't budge at all.  Then it comes to used cars and they don't budge on those prices either.  I know that they go to auctions and buy these things for way less than kbb trade in value.  So if I ask for close to kbb trade in value when they want 4 grand more they should be able to make the deal.
