How the hemi are you?

I think (hope) that GM is smart enough to know that there are too many dodge fans out there to kill the dodge line.  So what do you think they'll end up doing?

You need to have an option for selling it off along with most of the dodge brand.  Like the charger and the viper to someone else.

I think GM is going to keep dodge and jeep, chrysler doesn't really have a brand identity so there's not a lot of value in keeping it around.

I don't see dodge making it through this.  GM already has a truck line and a performance car line (in pontiac).  They'd keep Jeep and that's about it.  This merger is all about keeping foreign automakers out of the market and reducing production here, they have to kill off both lines for this to work.

Dodge is gone if GM gets chrysler.  They move the lx cars to chevy.

GM is keeping dodge, they have to.  Too many buyers would be lost if they don't.

Dodge and everything related to it are gone after GM swallows up chrysler.  They have to kill it, they need to shut down as many plants as possible to save money.  Anything not related to small fuel efficient cars is gone.

That exact scenario is what I'm afraid of.  If GM were to get chrysler then in order to cut costs enough to make it worth while it might have to shut down all the chrysler brands.

They have to.  There's no way to buy up a losing car maker when yer already losing cars and not cut their costs to nil.  That means everything goes, and maybe jeep gets sold off.

Dodge is a money maker right now.  It has more brand loyalty and identity than anything in the GM line up.  There's no way that Dodge gets the axe in a GM merger.

I don't think that's true.  Dodge isn't selling it's charger/challenger in the volumes it needs to.  The avenger isn't selling, the SUVs/trucks aren't selling.  I don't think anything in the chrysler line up is a money maker right now.  Not at the volumes we have.
