Diesel needs to come back down to earth so we can start paying normal prices for food and other items at the store.  Everyone is in their own little personal recession because the price of goods has gone up so high compared to wages.

No sh*t, I just paid 130$ to fill the tank.  I get better mpgs than most gassers but that's terrible.

Right now I wouldn't pay the extra $$ for a hybrid.  But by the time I need to buy a new vehicle gas will be so damn expensive that I'll have to get a hybrid.

As long as it could tow what I needed it to I would buy one.  I'm a truck guy but if I needed an SUV a hybrid would be something to look at for sure.

For sure, the hybrid advantage will be huge for all larger vehicles.  Everyone that wants/needs bigger vehicles is going to have to start figuring out how to pay for all the gas they buy, better mpg will mean better sales.
